Zusammenfassung: | He's the most-performed contemporary composer in the world today. But Arvo Pärt stays out of the public eye, preferring to remain at his home in the heart of an Estonian forest. The Lost Paradise follows him over the course of a year, from his native Estonia natale to Japan by way of the Vatican. We experience the premiere of Adam's Passion, a concert of the composer's works inspired by the myth of Adam's Fall from Paradise. The celebrated theater director Robert Wilson stages the work in an old submarine factory in Tallinn. In following the creative process from start to finish, the film offers a rare look at the universe of two of the greatest artists on today's international scene. Mercifully, and unusually these days, director Günter Atteln's approach is cool, focused and un-tricksy, illuminating the subject without pointless and mannered stylistic distractions. |
