Zusammenfassung: | At the Verbier Festival in 2008 and in 2011, famous conductors Neeme and Paavo Järvi meet the Verbier Festival Orchestra to perform two masterworks composed by Strauss. Two emblematic works and brilliant symphony poems, Ein Heldenleben, Op. 40 and Don Juan, Op. 20 plunge the Verbier Festival at the heart of Richard Strauss work. Indeed he uses all the expressive resources of the orchestra to create a real narrative music and draws on literary patterns to transform them into musical epic poems. Don Juan indeed was composed after verses written by Nikolaus Lenau, as for Ein Heldenleben, it seems to be a musical autobiography of the composer who seeks to stage himself. With his symphonic poems, Richard Strauss reveals the evolution of his style, with two works that have remained highly acclaimed since their creation. Under the baton of acclaimed conductors Neeme and Paavo Järvi who conduct the most eminent orchestras around the world, the Verbier Festival Orchestra offers a passionate performance of these two works of reference. |
