Zusammenfassung: | The young musicians of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra under the baton of their musical director Gábor Takács-Nagy, are joined by Gautier Capuçon! Conducted by its music director Gábor Takács-Nagy -- a founding member of the Takács Quartet -- the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra start this concert with Mozart's Symphony No. 25, one of the composer's most popular works, made even more popular by the great amount of advertising campaigns which used it. It was also featured in the soundtrack of Milos Forman's Amadeus. The concert ends with Beethoven's Symphony No 5. In the middle of the programme, the orchestra is joined by French cellist Gautier Capuçon, playing one of the most renowned cello concertos of the repertoire, Camille Saint-Saëns' masterpiece which is conspicuous for his lyricism and vitality. As an encore, Gautier Capuçon and the orchestra perform the arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Andante cantabile: a milestone! This concert was broadcast live on medici.tv on the 27th of July, 2012. |
