Drittens liessen sich anhand ein The objective and purpose of management executive education is to improve the knowledge and competence of participants in such a way that they can achieve their best performance in their field of activity. Due to societal demand for an ethically oriented economy, management training for executive education is derived from the requirement for ethical reflection aspects to be integrated into, or added to the management theories, concepts and models that are being imparted, and which help the manager become more aware of their position of responsibility. A lack of academic discussion with regard to integrating ethics into executive education was identified as a research gap. The purpose of this investigation is to find out the reasons behind the lack of ethically focused management theories and to highlight and justify the possibility of integrating ethically oriented content into executive education as a goal for business schools to strive for. Since the line of argument affects a range of different disciplines, a multi-perspective approach was selected for the subject of the research. The argumentation is also supported by an empirical investigation, in which the positive effects of ethical content in training programmes shall be examined for the development of dynamic management skills that are central to strategic challenges. The main findings of this dissertation can be summarised as follows. Firstly, we identified the emancipation of economics from ethics as a cause for the ethical deficit in economics, which means that a new approximation is necessary. Secondly, we uncovered the possibility of an approach based on a selection of appropriate ethical teaching content for the development of an ethical understanding among participants. Thirdly, a social-ontological analysis provided the starting points for an integration of ethical content and value orientations into the entire process cycle of a training programme. Fourthly, the |
